In 1853, at the peak of the American gold rush, a host of companies emerged to produce sturdy clothing for gold diggers and miners. One such company was founded by Alfred Elfelt, and this pair of jeans was inspired by his creation.
In 1873, a variety of uniquely styled denim work pants began to emerge. This pair of jeans, along with the 1874’s J. Greenebaum jeans and 1879’s Charles A. Jones jeans, are products of this era.
