In the late 19th century, Charles A. Jones designed a pair of jeans featuring a double fabric design for the top half. Patented in December 1879, these jeans were the first to incorporate both a pocket cover and double fabric design. Originally crafted for railway workers, this design aimed to enhance durability and prevent items from falling out.
