This greatcoat is inspired by the 1940s RAF coat worn during WWII. Originally worn by members of the British Royal Air Force in colder conditions, it was made of thick wool, which was the go-to material before the advent of synthetic fibers. While the wool provided warmth, it wasn't particularly wind or water resistant, making it more suitable for officers away from the front lines. Due to its limitations in extreme weather conditions, it became more of a ceremonial piece from the 1960s onward.
Our version of the coat is tailored for a better fit than the original while retaining its classic details. -
