Double-pleat trousers, also known as two-tuck slacks, can be traced back to the late 19th century. During this time, trousers often featured higher waists, and pleats were added to provide greater mobility and comfort. By the 1930s, double-pleat trousers had gained popularity due to their relaxed and comfortable cut, becoming a symbol of elegance and sophistication, especially with the endorsement of Hollywood stars.

After the outbreak of World War II, their popularity quickly declined due to fabric rationing. However, post-war, these pleated trousers made a swift return to fashion. Over the ensuing decades, pleated trousers have remained a classic style in men's fashion, enjoying enduring popularity. The design, initially created for comfort and mobility, continues to be loved for its vintage charm and versatility, often incorporated into both formal and casual wear.
